South Towne Expo gun shows
Anybody besides me getting tired of paying the ridiculously high prices at the Crossroads of the West gun shows? I have been to all nature of gun shows here in the Salt Lake to Ogden are since I was a kid (36 now) and I have watched as many of the old "regulars" have faded away from having tables or even showing up for these shows.

At the last show I had a table, I purchased the table more than two weeks in advance, thus receiving my $10 dollar "discount" only to find that since my father and brother would be at the table with me I had to pay an additional $10 dollars since only two badges come free with your first table. I asked how that made sense since I was supporting them with an already generous $90 for a rickety table and how we could get in for a dollar cheaper with a coupon as a member of the public and get the second day hand stamp. No intelligent reply.

It seems as though the Templeton tribe is more concerned about the almighty dollar than the future of quality gun shows and keeping years-long customers happy with reasonable prices. It also is looking almost more like a flea market with all the non-gun garbage inside.

Anyone else concerned about these issues or am I just "off the reservation?"

Re: South Towne Expo gun shows
I also went to the gun show and was really let down. It had more NON gun tables than actual gun selling tables. I kept asking myself "this is a gun show right?". My wife did end up buying a Cobra CA-380 from the last table we saw. Not a bad price but we did not get to examine the gun when we bought it. When we got the gun home it had many problems for a new gun. You could not even get the magazine out without opening the tool box. For the price of the show and weapon we could have just gone to a gun store in town and got what we needed and been able to check the gun out first. Thank god that Cobra Arms is local and I took it to get it fixed no charge. But yes these things are getting terrible. You would think manufacturers would have tables set up to sell off and display their weapons. But not one was seen. More like just local guys selling guns or pawn shops. Prices where OK but you should be getting really good deals at gun shows.
