Greetings,

I have recently been thinking of obtaining ownership of a handgun, and possibly taking the class for the CFP. However I have a few questions...

Ownership ->

I'm not sure exactly when (it's been a few years ago -- maybe 5-6 years), I was convicted of a theft. It was a misdemeanor charge. Also from either 2000 or 2001 I have a posession of marijuana charge. Quite a few traffic tickets. In total I may have 2-3 thefts on my record. None of my charges were viloent, nor were they felonies.

Does any of this generally mean that I am unable to own a handgun?

CFP ->

Does the conviction of a theft disqualify me from being able to obtain a CFP? If normally it would, any information that could be pertinent to possibly obtaining a CFP would be appreciated.

Whether you qualify for firearm possesion? Contact Utah BCI 801-965-4867. They will answer all for your questions. I don't have enough info on all your charge or what happened. They will help you. Good Luck
